Tips for Healthful Aging

  1. Take care of yourself by getting good nutrition, rest and exercise.
  2. Establish a support system of friends and neighbors.
  3. Learn to relax - try deep breathing exercises.
  4. Listen to music.

  6. Avoid becoming upset over small provocations.
  7. Accept what you cannot change - maintain a good attitude.
  8. Choose realistic goals.
  9. Reduce caffeine intake.
  10. Seek professional help when you need it.
  11. Learn to plan and organize priorities daily.
  12. Be patient and tolerable of yourself and others.
  13. Enrich your personal growth through interests and hobbies.
  14. Allow yourself to daydream.
  15. Record your family history - get the photographs in order.
  16. Give yourself a treat once a week - ice cream, a night out with friends, a movie…
  17. Take part in fun and laughter - everyday - especially at yourself.
  18. Take a mini-vacation.
