
West Palm Beach, FL (December 15, 2007) – The Friends of MorseLife are looking for some caring community members with a competitive streak – those who love a great round of golf – sitting with friends for a game of card games or mahjong – or just relaxing for shopping for lovely jewelry and knick-knacks. The 17th Annual Friends of MorseLife Day, to be held Monday, February 25th at The Fountains Country Club in Lake Worth, promises participants a great day of fun and games, while at the same time, the opportunity to help support MorseLife’s mission of enhancing lives of seniors of our community.

Burt Katz of Palm Beach Gardens and Linda Haas of West Palm Beach are the chairs for the annual event. “”For the past 16 years, we have provided a wonderful opportunity for our caring community to come out to support the efforts to raise funds to help bring greater quality to the lives of seniors served by MorseLife,” noted Burt Katz. “And what a great time we all have in helping our much-loved organization!”
The Friends of MorseLife Day begins with registration and brunch at 11:15 am with a shotgun start at 12:45 pm for the men and women golfers. For those who play cards and games, the registration and brunch begin at 12:15 with cards and games beginning at 1:15 pm. Boutique shopping for everyone will open at 11:00 am. “This year, as in the past, we have brought together some vendors of lovely items in our boutique,” noted Linda Haas.
Ellen Falk of Palm Beach Gardens and Sid Rosenthal of West Palm Beach, co-chairmen for Friends of MorseLife, note that the chairs have been working long and hard to make this day wonderful. “This event brings much fun and excitement to our supporters,” said Ellen Falk. “And as one of our major fund raisers of the year, this event goes a long way in supporting MorseLife.”
Sid noted that “we owe a debt a gratitude to Burt, Linda and all of the people who will ensure that this event will be a success.” He also noted the vital support of sponsors who help with expenses of the event – ensuring that the majority of funds raised go to directly benefit MorseLife and the seniors served.

The Friends of MorseLife Day is among the major fund raising events for the Friends of MorseLife – a group of community members – of various ages and interests – committed to enhancing the quality of life to the seniors served by MorseLife. Events such as this one help to pay for both designated gifts, flowers and wine for Shabbat and the holidays, events and outings and presents for residents of Morse Geriatric Center for Chanukah, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. Additionally, the group provides funding for a music enhancement program and Direct TV service for all Morse Geriatric Center residents, as well as special needs grants.
